BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Electric Power Co., Ltd. on May 16 kicks off the Luofeng 500 kV power transmission and transformation project, in Zhaoyuan of Yantai City, east China’s Shandong province, the 60th 500 kV substation built by the company.
The electricity project, Yantai’s first 500 kV intelligent substation, plays an important role in power supply, supporting the Yulong Island refining and chemical integration project, Shandong’s key refining and chemical project.
With 13.4 kilometers of electricity transmission lines and 35 towers, the project will optimize the regional grid structure and serve rural revitalization.
The company has constructed 60 500 kV substations with a capacity of 117 million kVA and a total length of 11,683 kilometers across Shandong, aiming at providing stable electricity supply during the peak seasons in summers and winters. (Edited by Wang Sheng, wangsheng@xinhua.org)
