BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The No.439 Xinhua·China Secondhand Ship Price Index (XH·SSPI) stood at 913.74 points in the week ending on May 5, decreasing 6.03 points, or 0.66 percent, from the previous issue.
The XH·SSPI was jointly launched by Zhejiang Shipping Exchange (ZSE) and China Economic Information Service (CEIS) under Xinhua News Agency on December 19, 2022, on the basis of China Secondhand Ship Price Index (SSPI) compiled by ZSE on March 12, 2011. It is an important indicator for the shipping sector, showing the trends of secondhand ship price.
The index comprises 3 comprehensive indices covering 13 typical ship types ranging from dry bulkers to tankers. It is published every 2 weeks, and each issue is released before 17:00 p.m. on the second working day after the base date. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
