BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Constructed by China Railway No.3 Engineering Group, the Hima-Katunguru highway project in Uganda obtained a performance certificate signed by the owner, marking successful completion of the project.
With a total length of 58 km and a 6.5 km urban section, the Hima-Katunguru project is the third highway project undertaken by China Railway No.3 Engineering Group in Uganda. The main construction content includes roadbed earthwork, bridge and culvert structure, roadbed reinforcement and protection and other ancillary works.
Since the start of construction, in the face of complex safety situation, severe epidemic situation and various sudden natural disasters, the project team has formulated a detailed construction plan and made effective guarantee measures to ensure the smooth progress of construction.
Moreover, the project team actively fulfills its social responsibilities on behalf of local enterprises in Uganda. When the local area suddenly encounters a once-in-a-century flood, the team actively organized donations, rescue matters, and urgently mobilized machinery and other construction forces to complete the excavation of two sections of ditches for flood discharge.
The high-quality and efficient performance of the Hima-Katunguru highway project in Uganda has been highly praised by local government and residents, establishing an excellent brand image of China Railway Group in Africa.
