BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- A freight train carrying 55 containers of goods departed on April 22 from Shanghai for Moscow, Russia, marking the 100th trip since the Chinese metropolis launched its China-Europe freight train service in 2021.
Loaded with air conditioners, forklifts and fabrics, the train is set to leave China via Erenhot Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
At present, Shanghai has 10 freight train routes, linking about 29 countries in Asia and Europe, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland and Germany.
Up to now, the service has transported nearly 10,000 TEU of cargo, with the total weight of 80,000 tonnes and the total value of 3.12 billion yuan.
