BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- North China's Tianjin Municipality recently held an event to mark the International Bird Loving Day with the theme of "promoting green development and harmonious co-existence between human being and nature".
Co-hosted by State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Co., the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, the Tianjin wildlife rescue and breeding center, relevant wetland and forestry departments, and social welfare organizations, the event aimed at in-depth exchanges on bird protection, ecological civilization construction and green development.
It is learned that State Grid Tianjin has actively participated in the development of public welfare undertakings in recent years.
Focusing on public welfare cooperation, bird rescue, technical research, and public education, the company actively implemented the Tianjin action of "migratory bird lifeline" and explored the green development model that allows birds and electric power transmission lines to co-exist in harmony.
According to statistics, State Grid Tianjin has joined hands with bird protection cooperative enterprises, institutions and environmental protection organizations to form an ecological protection alliance, which has conducted more than 80 nature education lectures, distributed more than 6,000 publicity materials, rescued more than 500 injured birds, released more than 100,000 fish fry, and provided a "safe canteen" for 400,000 migratory birds that made the transit.
