FRANKFURT, April 11 (Xinhua) -- German companies continued investing in China in 2022, with their total investment reaching 11.5 billion euros, according to the data from Deutsche Bundesbank, Germany's central bank.
The German Economic Institute believed that China continues to be attractive, as German companies had invested in China in 2022 more than ever before.
In addition, the investment data for previous years had been revised sharply upwards by the Bundesbank. In 2020, almost 2 billion euros more flowed into China than previously estimated, and even about 4.2 billion euros more in 2021. The direct investment inflows from the German companies totaled 21.5 billion euros over the past two years.
It is learned that the new investments have been entirely financed from German companies' profits in China since 2018. In most years between 2010 and 2015, reinvested earnings from German companies accounted for just over half of total FDI in China.
