BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- China's leading testing company Pony Testing International Group has officially obtained the Designated Operational Entity (DOE) qualification of the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism and authorized to carry out the validation and verification of international CDM projects in 15 industry sectors.
The qualification was awarded at the 117th meeting of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, reported Xinhua-run China Securities Journal Thursday.
The UN Clean Development Mechanism is a carbon trading mechanism between developed and developing countries led by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to support actions reducing greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.
The acquisition of this international certification and verification qualification is an important pioneering achievement of Pony Testing in the field of greenhouse gas emission reduction and sustainable development, marking a new milestone in the ability of green and low-carbon audit technology.
The scope of international CDM projects that can be validated and verified by Pony Testing includes energy distribution, energy demand, manufacturing, chemicals, construction, transportation, mining/mineral production and etc.
