BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the medical and health sector of China remained active on the whole in 2022, reported China Securities Journal Thursday quoting a report by global auditing and consultancy firm PwC.
According to the report, the transaction amount in medical and health services in China from 2019 to 2022 registered nearly 250 billion yuan in total, with over 1,200 deals made. The transactions in 2022 totaled about 50.6 billion yuan, slightly lower from 2019, and 362 deals were made, nearly double that of 2019. The average single transaction amount peaked in 2021 and fell back to about 150 million yuan in 2022.
Medical artificial intelligence and specialized hospitals are the hot fields for M&A in 2022, while third-party testing, medical big data and informatization have attracted capital's attention, the report shows.
