BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A release conference was held in Beijing on March 10, announcing that the 2023 World Brand Moganshan Summit, themed "Dialogue with the world, create a better future," will be held in Deqing County of Huzhou City in east China's Zhejiang Province from May 10 to 12 this year.
The summit and its related activities are jointly initiated by Xinhua News Agency, China Council for Brand Development (CCBD) and local departments of Zhejiang Province, Huzhou City and Deqing County. The aim is to promote China's brand development through comprehensive discussions on the historical patterns, current situations and future trends of brand development across the world.
The plan for the 2023 World Brand Moganshan Summit was introduced during the launching ceremony at Friday's conference.

The summit will be held along with tens of parallel sessions with various topics including development of the world's top 500 brands, global influence of Zhejiang brands, brand building under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and so on, as well as featured activities such as drone shows, light shows, exhibitions of BRI achievements in ten years and high-end interviews with entrepreneurs, among others.
With over 2,000 representatives from domestic and international enterprises, local departments and global academic institutions expected to gather at the summit, the event is set to be held in the Deqing International Convention Center, where the United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress once took place.
Located at the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta region, Deqing has made remarkable progress in promoting common prosperity in recent years, with the urban-rural income ratio constantly narrowing.
In 2021, the city brand of Deqing has become China's first county-level brand selected into Xinhua News Agency's National Brands Project, whereas a lab for the Deqing city brand was established last year. The 2023 World Brand Moganshan Summit will provide an opportunity for Deqing to enhance its influence and promote its high-quality development, according to Ao Yuxin, Party chief of Deqing County.
In recent years, CCBD has also been working with Xinhua to boost the development of Chinese brands, said Zheng Zhishou, vice chairman and secretary-general of CCBD. To celebrate this year's China Brand Day, the council will continue to work with Xinhua and other organizations to release 2023 China Brand Evaluation and hold relevant activities, according to Zheng.
