BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) -- PDD Holdings (NASDAQ: PDD), the parent company of Chinese e-commerce platform Pinduoduo, will tap into the e-commerce markets in Australia and New Zealand by launching its cross-border e-commerce platform Temu in the two countries on March 13, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
The Temu app was initially launched by PDD in North America in September 2022. Since its launch, Temu has achieved full coverage of Chinese manufacturing categories, including apparels, home appliances, accessories, toys, etc., and helped Chinese manufacturing enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and factories widen their global reach and accelerate their digital transformation and upgrading.
At present, hot-selling products such as women's apparels and small household appliances on the Temu platform have achieved daily sales of 10,000 pieces, with the daily sales of a single store exceeding 30,000 orders.
As part of its commercial launch in the two countries next week, Temu will exempt merchants on the platform from commission and guarantee fees.
It is learned that goods listed on Temu in North America will also be available to consumers in Australia and New Zealand.
