BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Since the opening of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games on February 4 last year, more than 6 million people have participated in ice and snow sports in Zhangjiakou City of north China's Hebei province in one year, and the annual output value of the city's ice and snow equipment industry has reached 1.778 billion yuan, China News Service(CNS) reported.
The city has signed 120 snow and ice industry projects with a total investment of 68.861 billion yuan and annual output value of 1.778 billion yuan, latest data showed.
During the one-year period, the city has hosted 31 national and provincial-level professional sports games and 23 cultural tourism carnival activities, carried out 139 key projects such as the establishment of ice and snow town, and launched 20 ice-snow tourism routes.
Meanwhile, Chongli District and High-tech Industrial Development Zone of the city were listed as national sports industry demonstration bases while Wanlong Paradise Resort, Thaiwoo Ski Resort and Fulong Snow Park were ranked as national sports tourism demonstration bases.
In the post-Winter Olympics period, Zhangjiakou made the most of the legacy of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics to turn the cold resources into a "hot economy' and boost the development of the winter sports games, winter sports equipment as well as ice-snow tourism.
