BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Ruili port, a border port between China and Myanmar located in southwest China's Yunnan, has witnessed a surge in inbound passenger flow since the port resumed passenger clearance on January 25 this year, with a record hitting 3,503 inbound passengers in a single day, Chinanews.com reported on Sunday.

The port has recorded a total of 60,000 inbound passengers since January 25, of which more than half of passengers are travel for visiting relatives as well as business and trade negotiations.

A trade merchant from Myanmar was quoted as saying that the resumption of customs clearance at Ruili port has restored the convenience of cross-border trade between China and Myanmar.

In order to cope with the surging passenger flow, the Ruili port has adopted a series of effective measures, such as dynamic monitoring of passenger flow, to ensure the normal operation of the port. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
