BEIJING, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese electronics giant TCL will further promote the company's global competitiveness and presence in Brazilian market, said Li Dongsheng, founder and chairman of TCL, during his meeting with Hennell, founder of SEMP, a time-honored Brazilian electrical appliance company.
The two sides seek to further cooperation in the South American market. It is learned that TCL and SEMP formed SEMP TCL, a joint venture in 2016. TCL currently has two manufacturing bases in Brazil, TVs and air conditioners ones.
SEMP has more than 80 years of experience in local market operation and sales in Brazil, combined with TCL's international vision and independent innovation technology, making SEMP TCL's product sales rank in the forefront of the Brazilian market since its establishment.
TCL TV's market share in Brazil reached 18.8 percent, ranking the third. After three years of efforts in the Brazilian market, TCL's air conditioning market share in Brazil has exceeded 7 percent.
Li Dongsheng said that in the future TCL would enrich its product lines in Brazil and introduce home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines into the Brazilian market. Li expressed his hopes that the company's mobile phones, refrigerators and other terminal products could also have greater development in the Brazilian market.
