BEIJING, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A ceremony was held to celebrate the Longtaitou Day at a kindergarten in Yinan County of Linyi, east China's Shandong Province on Monday.
Literally meaning "dragon raises head", the Longtaitou Day, the second day of the second lunar month, falls on Tuesday this year.
Children in Yinan County performed dragon dance and yangge dance to wish a vigorous start to the new year. Teachers of the kindergarten put a red dot on students' forehead as it represents the opening of the wisdom eye. Children were wearing champion hats they made by themselves during the celebration.

The custom of celebrating the Longtaitou Day in China can date back to Tang Dynasty (618-907). In nowadays, it is celebrated in various ways, including eating Chinese pancakes, eating noodles, and getting haircuts.
