BEIJING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- An international standard proposal submitted by China on railway application technical criteria for the co-ordinations in neutral-section passing system for train was recently approved by global members of the International Electrotechnical Commission through voting, reported Monday's edition of Science and Technology Daily.
The proposal was presented by the China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd. on behalf of China, marking the first time that the country leads the formulation of an international standard in the field of railway electrification technology.
As the convenor of the standard's international working group, China is expected to recruit international railway experts from China, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Russia and Switzerland to jointly draft the standard in the next three years.
The proposed standard, once established, will be used to ensure the reliability of the neutral-section passing systems, reducing the maintenance and repair costs caused by failures and risks occurred when trains pass through the neutral-section.
Experts said that leading the formulation of this standard has further expanded the space for international cooperation and exchange of China's high-speed railway technologies, enhancing the voices of Chinese enterprises in the international discourse of railway technology and promoting technological development through building of standard setting capabilities.
