BEIJING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen will pay an official visit to China from Feb. 9 to 11, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning announced on Monday.
As an old friend and good friend of the Chinese people, Hun Sen will be the first foreign leader China hosts after the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2023, which fully demonstrates the high level of bilateral ties, Mao said in a press briefing.
During the visit, Chinese leaders will meet and hold talks with Hun Sen to exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of common concern, she added.
Noting China and Cambodia are traditional and friendly neighbors enjoying an iron-clad friendship, Mao said that the relationship forged by the older generations of leaders has grown stronger and the China-Cambodia community with a shared future has yielded fruitful results in recent years, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples and contributing to peace and prosperity of the region and the world.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and also the China-Cambodia Friendship Year, which China hopes will help promote the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future and carry on their friendship from generation to generation, she said.
