BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD saw 420 billion yuan of operating revenue in 2022, with net profit reaching 16 billion yuan to 17 billion yuan, up 425.42 percent to 458.26 percent year on year, according to the company's performance report released on Monday.
The report also said that its net profit after deduction amounted to 15.1 billion-16.3 billion yuan, increasing by 1,103.55 percent to 1,199.20 percent year on year.
In 2022, BYD sold 1,863,500 NEVs in total, up 208.64 percent year on year, surpassing Tesla to become the global champion in NEV sales.
The company has already formed rich product matrix including flagship Tang EV, Han EV, Qin Plus DM-i, Song Plus DM-i, BYD Dolphin and BYD Seal, and the sales are expected to climb with the market-leading sci-tech innovation, research report of Cinda Securities shows.
BYD will continue to expand overseas markets and unveil more car models for global consumers, said an official of the company.
