MILAN, Jan. 18 (Class Editori) — According to Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm, India is beating the US and Europe in the deployment of 5G network infrastructure and is poised to experience a boom in the domestic technology industry.
The CEO of the Swedish giant operating in Information Communication Technology (ICT) explained that the global rollout of infrastructure for 5G network deployment is still at the beginning, with China leading the global race, followed by the US, which is investing very aggressively in the sector, and Europe still moving forward at a slow pace.
Outside of China, the country experiencing very rapid growth in the sector is India, Ekholm explained. “India will have the strongest digital infrastructure outside of China and will soon be comparable to Beijing thanks to the fast pace in infrastructure deployment and the increase in data traffic in the country,” he added.
