BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- China's leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD released on Thursday its high-end brand Yangwang officially, reported Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
Along with Yangwang's first model U8, the new vehicle is marketed as a new energy hardcore off-road SUV. In an unprecedented move, Yangwang also unveiled a supercar dubbed the U9.
At the launching event, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD said that Yisifang, the core technology of Yanwang, is a set of power system with four-motor independent drive as the core, which reconstructs the characteristics of new energy vehicles from the three dimensions of perception, decision-making and execution. In the future, the Yisifang technology will be installed as standard on all models of the Yangwang brand.
The Yisifang technology is a new wheel-side motor that powers the vehicle through four independent motors without relying on the steering wheel to turn. This enables the car to achieve 360-degree steering in one spot.
Besides,Yisifang's four-wheel independent motor technology can control the vehicle's movement through real-time wheel torque regulation to help the driver in the event of steering wheel failure or tire blowout.
Today, BYD's battery and electric drive technology level has ranked in the forefront of the world. The launch of Yangwang brand will further promote the upward development of BYD and consolidate the company's voice in the luxury market and high-end market, noted Wang.
