BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) – International trucks loaded with Christmas supplies will leave Manzhouli Port, a China-Russia border port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, heading for Europe to ensure demand for European markets during Christmas holiday, reported Chinanews.com Saturday.
According to Manzhouli Customs, different from the previous years, which mainly focused on the export demand of Christmas supplies from October to November, foreign businesses advanced the purchase demand of Christmas supplies to August and extended to December this year, in order to deal with the uncertainty of delivery, while Manzhouli Customs also adjusted the work plan to provide reliable logistics guarantee for these Christmas supplies exported to Europe.
From August to November this year, the declared export value of Christmas supplies through the Manzhouli port stood at 200.57 million yuan, with the export volume of 555.1 tonnes, up 68.2 percent and 46.7 percent year on year, respectively, according to customs data.
According to a customs declaration officer of a freight forwarding company at Manzhouli Port, in recent years, Christmas products made in China, including Christmas lights, decorations and Christmas trees, have become popular among consumers in European markets.
