LANZHOU, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- A rail-sea intermodal train, carrying 265 tonnes of raw sugar from India, on Wednesday arrived in Lanzhou New Area, northwest China's Gansu Province.
It is the first time raw sugar from India has entered Gansu through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Worth 150,000 U.S. dollars, the sugar, in 10 containers, will be processed and eventually used as an additive in food ingredients.
Lanzhou New Area is the first national-level development zone in northwestern China.
A total of 200 international freight trains arrived in or departed from the new area from January to November, up 33.33 percent year on year. Seven new international freight train routes were launched, connecting with more than 20 countries and regions such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, Laos and India.
Established in 2017, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor is a trade and logistics passage jointly built by provincial-level regions in western China and ASEAN members.
