BEIJING, Dec. 21(Xinhua) – China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) countries have vowed to further deepen cooperation in multimodal transport to support the high-quality development of the New International Land Sea Trade Corridor, according to the 2022 China-ASEAN Multimodal Transportation Development Forum held in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Tuesday.
Themed on "Jointly build the China-ASEAN Multimodal Transportation Alliance (CAMTA), contribute to the high-quality development of the New International Land Sea Trade Corridor", the forum has attracted government officials, experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries in the fields of economy and trade, logistics, transportation and digital economy to exchange views and insights on the connectivity of transport facilities between China and ASEAN countries, as well as the important role of multimodal transport in the industrial and supply chains of both sides.
Representatives from companies and institutions in the logistics sector include Beibu Gulf Port Group, China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, Guangxi Airport Group, China Federation of Logistics Purchasing and Planning Institute (CFLPLA) jointly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on "Jointly Building China-ASEAN Multimodal Transport Alliance" at the forum.
According to the MoU, all parties will work together to build CAMTA and strengthen cooperation in such aspects as strengthening facilities interconnection and promoting integration and innovation.
Li Yanqiang, chairman of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Group, delivered a keynote speech at the forum and said that Beibu Gulf Port will focus on the construction of transport hub, sea and rail multimodal transport and shipping routes, and comprehensively promote the high-quality development of the New International Land Sea Trade Corridor.
It is noted that as an international industry organization initiated and established by China-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park (CSILP), CAMTA is committed to provide more convenient and effective communication in various fields with China, ASEAN, Central Asia, and other countries in the Asia Pacific region along on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
