BEIJING, Dec. 21(Xinhua) -- Chinese tech giant Baidu and China Unicom, one of the country's leading telecom giants, signed a new five-year strategic cooperation agreement at the China Unicom International Partners Meeting 2022 held on Tuesday, which marks a new round of cooperation between the two sides after their first strategic cooperation in 2017, reported Chinanews.com.
According to the agreement, in the following five years, Baidu and China Unicom will carry out in-depth cooperation in digital information infrastructure, industrial upgrading, scientific and technological innovation, smart operation, network security and other fields, strengthen artificial intelligence and industrial integration and innovation, help Unicom to provide users with better services, and jointly empower industrial transformation and upgrading.
China Unicom introduced Baidu as a strategic investor in 2017 when it launched the mixed-use reform. In the past five years, the two sides have jointly carried out a number of projects and achieved remarkable results, including smart customer service, smart home, smart city, knowledge graph, video cloud platform, blockchain and digital human collection.
In the future, the two sides will deepen cooperation in digital economy and jointly promote the construction of cyber power, digital China and smart society.
Yang Zhaoming, vice president of Baidu, said that in the future, Baidu will, as always, fully support China Unicom's new strategy, and work together with China Unicom to empower digital transformation, opening up new paths and providing new engines for the development of digital economy.
