MILAN, Dec 15 (Class Editori) — The diagnostics of Singapore’s high-tech subway will be handled by MERMEC, an Italian company and subsidiary of the Angel Group based in Monopoli (Bari), and founded by Vito Pertosa, President and CEO of MERMEC. The Apulian Group operates in the fields of transportation, aerospace, and digital mechatronics.
The official announcement is expected to come during a gala event that will be held at the Italian Embassy in Singapore, in the presence of Ambassador Mario Vattani and all top public, private and governmental transport management in Singapore.
The order is worth 40 million euros and allows MERMEC to strengthen its presence in the international markets. MERMEC is already present in 71 countries (with branch offices and facilities in 21 countries), can count on 1,400 employees, about 1,000 of whom are engineers, and closed 2021 with an order backlog of more than 1.18 billion and revenues of around 200 million.
To consolidate its presence and to better serve the strategic area of the Southeast Asia, MERMEC has had its own company in Singapore since 2020, with a local office where highly specialized technicians and engineers work, Italians included.
Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is one of the safest and most advanced urban transportation systems in the world. In addition to MERMEC, the Angel Group includes subsidiaries VAIMOO (bike sharing), Blackshape Aircraft (aviation) and SITAEL (aerospace).
