BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- MSCI, a leading international rating company, has upgraded Chinese computer giant Lenovo's ESG rating to AAA, reported Xinhua-run China Securities Journal on Thursday.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance, and is an important reference standard for global investors to measure the sustainability and social responsibility of listed companies.
According to MSCI's official website, Lenovo Group is far ahead in corporate behavior, human capital development, e-waste recycling, etc., and has also been recognized for its outstanding performance in corporate governance, clean technology use, data privacy and security protection, and responsible procurement.
As the benchmark index most used by global portfolio managers, the MSCI index is an important basis for decision-making by major investment institutions around the world.
In recent years, Lenovo's performance in the field of ESG has been recognized by authoritative institutions at home and abroad. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index upgraded Lenovo's rating to AA+, achieving the best overall score in the IT industry.
