BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL), China's largest automotive lithium-ion battery maker, signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Huawei Terminal Co Ltd at CATL’s headquarters in Ningde, east China's Fujian Province, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported.
According to the report, Huawei will recommend CATL as the first choice of power battery supplier for its smart car products.
CATL will provide Huawei with high-quality automotive power batteries in an attempt to support Huawei’s fast roll-out of smart vehicle products to the market and guarantee the innovation and leadership of these products.
The move also signaled that the two parties will further increase investment in intelligent network electric vehicle technology and jointly build global high-end auto brands.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
