BEIJING, Dec 9 (Xinhua) -- With the entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries are deepening all-round cooperation in multiple fields, among which cultural and creative industries are becoming a "new engine" for facilitating cooperation and development between China and ASEAN countries, reported Chinanews.com on Thursday.
While traditional industries such as agriculture, industry and tourism contribute to economic development, creative industries are also expected to become the pillar of economic development in the future, according to Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, said in his video speech at the fifth China-ASEAN Industrial Design and Innovation Form held in Liuzhou, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, who added that the ASEAN countries are expected to seek more in-depth complementary cooperation with China in this field,
Danuch Tanterdtid, Vice Minister for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Thailand said in his video speech at the forum that the country is committed to promoting the development of industrial and creative design, vowing to further deepen cooperation and exchanges with countries and regions around the world in the creative industry.
Noting the prospects of cooperation between ASEAN countries and China in the creative industries, Chee Su Eing, President of Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBC) calls on partners to introduce a series of incentive policies to encourage innovation and breakthrough in creative industries, thereby improving national economy and livelihoods.
