BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) – Guiping City, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the largest inland waterway ship manufacturing base in Guangxi, has further injected impetus into the development of intelligent shipbuilding industry in Guangxi through the upgrading of shipbuilding equipment in recent years.
Hongxin Shipbuilding Co., LTD., a leading shipbuilder in Guiping City, can achieve an annual output of more than 300 ships, of which nearly 50 percent are ships capable of carrying 3,000 tonnes of cargo, according to Yang Guang, assistant to the company's chairman.
Noting the company's shipbuilding efforts in intelligent upgrading, Yang Guang said that the company is currently applying numerical control laser technology to improve production efficiency for cutting steel plates, which can shorten the construction period of one ship by nearly one month.
Meanwhile, Longmen Industrial Park, located in Guiping City, has attracted 75 enterprises, mostly from industries such as plate processing, furniture manufacturing, shipbuilding, and ceramics, to settle in the park. Now, the part becomes one of the main driving forces for Guiping's economic development.
Qin Qi, deputy director of Longmen Industrial Park, revealed that as an important carrier of local economic development in Guiping City, Longmen Industrial Park is committed to guiding the transformation and upgrading of the plate industry while focusing on environmental protection, and firmly practicing green and intelligent development.
