BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Guangdong Guangwu Logistic Co., Ltd., a major logistic and freight train operator in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province has handled a total of 300 China-Europe freight trains since this year, an increase of 140 percent over the same period last year, according to the Guangdong Guangwu Logistic Co., Ltd..

Guangwu Logistics launched the China-Europe freight train service connecting Zhanjiang-Guangzhou Port and Europe together with the operation platform of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province on December 2 this year, opening a new international logistics channel for Zhanjiang linking European countries.

The train carried 650 tonnes of 50 TEUs of Zhanjiang locally produced thermal paper, induction stoves and other export goods with a total value of more than 2.4 million U.S. dollars heading for the destination of Russia on December 2.

By the end of November this year, Guangwu Logistics had handled a total of 318 China-Europe freight trains, up 148.44 percent year on year, while the total freight volume surged 120.01 percent year on year to 28,100 TEUs, injecting impetus to the resumption of work and production of more than 3,400 local enterprises in Zhanjiang.
