BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 15 major projects with a total investment of 50.65 billion yuan were signed during a ceremony held on Tuesday in Changsha area of China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province.
Among the projects, there are three projects attracting investment of 5 billion to 10 billion yuan and two projects with investment of more than 10 billion yuan, namely Sany Science City with an investment of 23.5 billion yuan and an electronic material and high-end daily chemical products research and production base with an investment of 10.2 billion yuan.
These projects also involve two foreign-funded projects and eight foreign trade projects. In terms of industry, six signed manufacturing projects account for 40 percent of the total, which attract investment of 42.95 billion yuan, representing 85 percent of the total investment.
As one of the contracted manufacturing projects, SEG Automobile's new energy product research and development and manufacturing project will draw on 600 million yuan of investment in the first three years and 3 billion yuan in the next five years, mainly producing high-voltage motors products.
According to the second batch of innovation results of the FTZ released in the ceremony, in 2022, a total of 33 innovation results including trade facilitation have been yielded in the Changsha area, twice the national average.
It is noted that since got approval in 2020, the Changsha area of the FTZ has registered 220.9 billion yuan of foreign trade volume and has seen 14,000 newly registered enterprises by far. The area also introduced 174 new projects with a total investment of 253.5 billion yuan. The FTZ's imports and exports to Africa reached 7.28 billion yuan, up 273.3 percent year on year.
