BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- TCL Electronics, a leading Chinese TV brand and pioneer in consumer electronics, won the CES 2023 Innovation Award for its innovative engineering design and advanced Mini LED display technology of LED products, reported Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
It is learned that TCL's Mini LED backlight is an upgraded version developed on the basis of traditional LED backlight, known as next-generation display technology. Compared with OLED, it has the advantages of more stability, longer life and lower cost. TCL Electronics has been committed to the research and development of Mini LED technology, and launched the world's first Mini LED smart screen in 2019.
Sponsored by Consumer Technology Association(CTA) of the U.S., the CES Innovation Awards are the world's largest and most influential annual technology event in recognition of the year's outstanding global design and engineering skills in consumer electronics.
Statistics from market research agency Omdia showed, in the first three quarters of this year, TCL took a share of 11.7 percent in global market in terms of TV sales volume, up 0.6 percentage points from a year ago.
