BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 2022 Zhejiang Agricultural Export Online Trade Fair (Americas) kicked off on Wednesday in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, attracting participants from countries and regions including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Dominica to attend the event via cloud connection, according to China News Service.
More than 60 import and export enterprises in Zhejiang have been organized to settle in the online exhibition hall, and conducted matchmaking and trade consultation with over 80 international purchasers mainly from the Americas.
The Americas is one of the key regions to strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and an important market for import and export of agricultural products in Zhejiang, said Shen Suqin, deputy director of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department of Zhejiang Province, adding that Zhejiang would like to take this event as an opportunity to promote bilateral agricultural trade with the Americas.
In 2021, the foreign trade volume between Zhejiang Province and the Americas reached 53.17 billion yuan, with more than 800 kinds of agricultural products traded.
Zhejiang is one of the major agricultural foreign trade provinces in China. It conducts trade of agricultural products with more than 200 countries and regions in the world.
In 2021, the foreign trade volume of agricultural products between Zhejiang and the Americas amounted to more than 53 billion yuan, accounting for about one third of the total trade volume of agricultural products of the province.
