BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) - "ChaoJi" charging station for new energy vehicle (NEV), the first fast charging station along the expressway in north China’s Tianjin Municipality built by State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, has recently entered the trial operation.
Led by State Grid Corporation, the "ChaoJi" fast charging technology, which combines charging system design, communication protocols and connecting components, was released globally in June 2020, marking a new stage in the application of cutting-edge charging technologies.
The ChaoJi charging devices are equipped with international universal charging interfaces, which can provide fast charging for different NEV models with the maximum charging power of 900 kilowatts (kW), saving about 70 percent charging time compared with ordinary charging piles.
The ChaoJi charging station project is equipped with 7 charging piles under Chinese national standard (GB) and 1 charging pile of dual charging connector with GB interface and ChaoJi interface, according to Zhang Haining, who is specialized in the construction of charging facilities of Wuqing Company under the State Grid Tianjin Electric Company.
In addition to fast charging, ChaoJi charging stations are also equipped with smart functions such as environmental monitoring, and dynamic information linkage, which can provide users with a number of convenient services, including weather information forecast, and charging station locations.
At the same time, the ChaoJi charging station has been connected with the smart vehicle networking platform launched by the State Grid, which enables users easily obtain the operation, price, location and other relevant information of the charging pile through mobile App.
Up to now, the State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company has built 1,138 charging stations and 8,842 charging piles in the city, and realized full coverage of charging facilities on 17 expressways (Tianjin section). The company is expected to continue planning and building charging facilities in key business areas, residential communities and other areas near convenient amenities.
