BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The fifth Chinese Design Award held an awarding ceremony in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, on Tuesday.
According to the organizing committee, BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd.'s Interactive Whiteboard won the gold medal in the "product"group while B2Q portable oven kits won the gold medal in the "concept" group. The winners for "Top 10 Most Commercially Valuable Designs" were also unveiled at the ceremony.
The Chinese Design Award was firstly held in 2018 and has been going through five consecutive years, boosting exchanges and cooperation of designing industries in both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
This year's awards include three thematic categories, namely intelligent manufacturing, culture creativity and rural revitalization, and one feature theme "designing for Zhenhai District of Ningbo City", attracting a total of 13,936 pieces of design works.
At the same time, the sixth China Design Award was announced to start, which would invite the designers across the Taiwan Strait to visit villages in Lin'an District of Hangzhou and enterprises in Zhenhai District of Ningbo in a bid to boost rural revitalization and industrial transformation with the help of designing services.
Since its debut in 2018, the Chinese Design Award has gathered many excellent designing works from Chinese mainland, China's Taiwan, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region to promote the Cross-Strait cultural exchanges and cooperation as well as wide attention from all walks of life.
Yu Suihuai, vice president of China Industrial Design Association, said that designing can serve as a bridge to implant Chinese culture into products, so that Chinese products can spread Chinese culture overseas and gain popularity.
