BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company, a subsidiary under State Grid Hunan Electricity Power Company Limited, has been committed to helping Changsha Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Central China's Hunan Province optimize its business environment, innovating power supply service models to further optimize users' electricity experience.
In order to meet the low-carbon emission demand of Changsha FTZ, the State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company built the first localized "Low-carbon Service Center" in the airport economic demonstration zone in Changsha in June 2021.
The smart energy service platform in the FTZ can monitor and analyze the power consumption to help user make power consumption plan, which can ultimately save about 50 percent of the FTZ’s overall power consumption and achieve an 8.9 percent reduction in carbon emissions, said Yang Jun, general manager of State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company.
While providing optimized power supply services for the FTZ, the Changsha Power Supply Company also actively provides high-quality power solutions for local manufacturing enterprises.
In September last year, the company invested more than 2.6 million yuan to connect the transmission line for the third phase of Sunward Industrial City located in Changsha Economic Development Zone half a year in advance, which not only provides convenience for the enterprise but also saves electricity costs.
Considering the business development and electricity demand of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the FTZ, the State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company installed a special transformer with a capacity of 200 kilovolt-ampere (KVA) for Hunan Liguang Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., saving nearly 200,000 yuan of transformer installation cost for the enterprise.
The State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company will fully invest and bear the related costs of connecting power to small, medium and micro enterprises in the FTZ, as well as be responsible for the corresponding operation and maintenance.
In recent years, Hunan Province has been actively implemented the appeals put forward by China’s authorities to improve the service level of "Getting Electricity” and optimize the business environment for electricity consumption.
The "Getting Electricity" indicator describes all the processes and costs involved in obtaining a permanent electricity connection for a standardized site. According to the Ease of Doing Business Evaluation Index released by the World Bank, the "Getting Electricity" index is also one of the major indicators to evaluate the ease of doing business in each economy entity.
It is noted that the "Getting Electricity" action implemented by Changsha was rated as the "fastest growing indicator" in the business environment assessment by the relevant Chinese authorities. State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company vows to continue to provide more high-quality services for electricity customers, strive to have the power service experience that can be replicated and promoted in the nation, and continue to help optimize the local business environment.
