BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Pantyhose produced in China are becoming increasingly popular in European market where female customers wear them to keep warm against cold winter, and Chinese pantyhose enterprises have received surging number of orders from Europe this year.
In Zhuji City of east China's Zhejiang Province, many pantyhose manufacturers are working overtime to catch up on orders for delivery, which have been lined up until May in next year.
The production schedule has arranged until May next year, and the company sold more than three million pieces of pantyhose to European consumers in 2021 while about 3.6 million pieces of commodity have already been sold so far this year, said Lou Xuesong, general manager of a pantyhose company in Zhuji.
Lu Huazhen, the business manager of a local pantyhose manufacturer, told reporters that in the past, the products exported to Europe were mainly light and thin pantyhose while this year, many European customers have a strong demand for thick ones.
It is noted that the sales volume of the company where Lu works for has exceeded more than 30 million yuan in the first nine months of this year, with the biggest increase in exports to Europe.
Another pantyhose company's business manager Zhang told the press that this year the company's export orders to Europe jump by 40 percent year on year.
Ningbo City of east China's Zhejiang Province exported 82.047 million yuan of pantyhose from January to August this year, surging 94.8 percent year on year. Among them, 31.091 million yuan of commodities were exported to Europe, rocketing up 100.3 percent year on year, according to statistics from Ningbo Customs.
