As a major rail port in Xinjiang, the Alataw pass has handled a total of 5,062 inbound and outbound freight trains from the beginning of the year to October 24, up 6.5 percent from a year earlier.

The China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. Alataw Station, the train operator, guarantees reliable and stable freight train operation by continuously improving the operation quality of freight trains and port transportation efficiency.

Major export goods transported via the pass are textiles, automobile and parts, machinery equipments, and furniture, while imported goods mainly include automobiles, wood, and wine.
