BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- A new customs clearance mode customized for the new energy vehicles(NEVs) exports in East China's Jiangsu province has cut clearance time to one day at shortest, and improved clearance efficiency by more than 70 percent in Lianyungang Port, according to China's General Administration of Customs (GAC).
It is learned that through advance declaration, ship side loading and other measures, this mode realizes direct loading and shipment of goods after arriving at the terminal.
Liu Honghai, marketing director of a harbour business branch of Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co., Ltd., said that the new operation mode can effectively improve the utilization efficiency and turnover efficiency of the terminal, and further reduce logistics costs, as well as attract more domestic sources of goods.
In order to ensure stable development of NEVs exports, Lianyungang Customs implemented several measures including optimizing vehicle customs clearance process, one-stop supervision of entry, inspection and release. At the same time, relying on the multimodal transport information platform, the customs can realize data exchange with railways and agency enterprises, so as to acknowledge export plans and logistics information from enterprises in advance.
A total of 26,000 NEVs have been exported through Lianyungang Port since this year, representing a y-o-y increase of 45 percent, and the value of these goods has increased by 44 percent y-o-y.
