Jiangsu's first highway-railway combined international freight transportation route launched

Abstract : A freight train fully loaded with daily necessities, textile equipment, refrigerator parts departed from Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) International Logistics Park in east China's Lianyungang city on October 13, which marks the launch of Jiangsu's first highway-railway combined international freight transportation route, reported local media.

BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- A freight train loaded with daily necessities, textile equipment, refrigerator parts departed from Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) International Logistics Park in Lianyungang city of east China's Jiangsu province on October 13, which marks the launch of Jiangsu's first highway-railway combined transportation, reported local media.

After arriving in Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, commodities on this train will then be transferred  to highway transportation, and finally reach Uzbekistan via Kyrgyzstan, which will take about 20 days on the trip.

With the normal and stable operation of the train, textile equipment,  solar panels, new energy vehicles and daily necessities and etc. produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai will continue to enter the Central Asian market, and high-quality cotton yarn, mung beans and other agricultural products and mineral products from Central Asia will be transported back to Lianyungang through the returning trains.

The special railway line from SCO International Logistics Park was officially opened on October 28, 2021.
