BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese computer giant Lenovo Group announced its green bond was included in Bloomberg MSCI Green Bond Index Monday, reported Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
It is learned that the Bloomberg MSCI Green Bond Index is one of the most important global benchmarks against which institutional environmental, social, and governance (ESG) funds are measured.
Currently, Lenovo Group's green bond is rated Baa2 by Moody's Investors Service, Inc., BBB- by Standard & Poor's Ratings Services and BBB by Fitch Ratings Ltd.
Lenovo Group green bond's conclusion in the Bloomberg MSCI Green Bond Index marks significant recognition of Lenovo's ESG commitment and helps further improve the liquidity of the company's green bonds in the fixed income market, said Lenovo Group's Chief Financial Officer Wong Wai Ming.
According to the company, Lenovo Group issued 625 million U.S.dollars of green bonds in July this year. The issuance of the green bond is an important milestone in Lenovo's ESG journey as well as a strong support to its vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
