BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's warehouse storage sector expanded in September, according to a survey jointly released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and CMST Development Co., Ltd.
The index tracking the sector's development stood at 52 percent last month, up 0.8 percentage points over the previous month and remaining in the expansion zone for a fifth consecutive month, the survey shows.
A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent reflects contraction.
Wang Yong, vice president of CMST Development, highlighted the sound upward trend in warehousing demand, noting that the sector continued to report a good performance last month.
Companies in the sector are upbeat about the future market, with a sub-index measuring expectations for business activities rising 0.5 percentage points from August to hit 55 percent in September.
In the fourth quarter of the year, the growth of the sector is expected to continue, boosted by infrastructure investment and e-commerce consumption, the association said.
