BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) – A China-Europe freight train full of 50 containers of daily necessities, auto parts, household appliances and other goods departed from the Horgos port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on October 6 to Malaszewicz, Poland, according to China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd.

The freight train dispatched on October 6 marks that the number of inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains at Alataw Pass and Horgos Port, the two major ports in Xinjiang, has exceeded 10,000 since this year.

From January to September this year, the two major ports in Xinjiang achieved a steady increase in the number of inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains. Among them, the Alataw Pass recorded a total of 4,617 China-Europe trains during the period, a year-on-year increase of 4.6 percent, while the number of freight trains via Horgos Port reached 5,246, an increase of 10.6 percent compared with the same period last year.

Thanks to the efforts made by the Xinjiang railway department to improve the operation quality and customs clearance efficiency of the freight trains, the operation of the trains has further injected impetus into the stable development of the international industrial chain and supply chain.

By now, a total of 70 and 91 China-Europe freight train routes have been operated via Horgos Port and Alataw Pass respectively. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
