BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Eight projects with an investment of nearly 5 billion yuan were contracted during 2022 Yulin Overseas Chinese Family Reunion and Overseas Chinese Innovation Entrepreneurship Summit, which kicked off in Yulin city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday.
A series of special promotion activities were carried out before the summit, and a total of 31 investment cooperation projects were signed on various promoting occasions, with a total investment of 40.2 billion yuan.
Overseas Chinese investors from more than 20 countries and regions, including representatives of chambers of commerce and enterprises, have participated in the summit online or in person.
The number and investment volume of overseas Chinese-funded enterprises in Yulin account for about 65 percent of the total number of foreign-funded enterprises and total foreign investment in Yulin, overseas Chinese businessmen at home and abroad have become an important source for Yulin to attract foreign investment and an important force for opening-up development, according to Mo Hua, an official of Yulin city who adressed the opening ceremony.
It is learned that Yulin is the hometown for more than 2 million overseas Chinese and more than 1.5 million relatives of returned overseas Chinese.
