BEIJING, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train, coordinated and operated by Shandong Hi-Speed Group dispatched from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) Demonstration Area in Qingdao on Sept. 16, marking cumulative number of "Qilu" China-Europe freight trains from SCO zone exceed 800 since its launch in April 2020, reported Chinanews.com.
The train carries a total of 100 TEUs, fully loaded with ceramic tiles, tires, mechanical accessories, daily necessities and other goods, valuing about 21 million yuan. Through Horgos port, it will finally arrive in Chukursay in Uzbekistan in about 10 days.
It is learned that in recent years, Shandong Hi-Speed Group has launched a series of special China-Europe freight train transporting products to more than 30 cities of the SCO countries.
At present, "Qilu" China-Europe freight train from SCO zone has opened up routes to Tashkent of Uzbekistan, Almaty of Kazakhstan, Dushanbe of Tajikistan, and Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan, which further smooths the east-west two-way international logistics channel, and promotes trade facilitation between Shandong and SCO countries.
Statistics from Qingdao Customs showed that, in the first eight months of this year, Shandong's import and export volume to SCO member countries was 190.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.4 percent.
