BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- China's courier sector posted a steady increase in express delivery volume in August, data from the State Post Bureau showed.
Last month, the country's courier sector handled overall 9.43 billion parcels, up 4.9 percent year on year, according to the bureau.
The sector saw its business revenue rise 5.2 percent year on year to 88.39 billion yuan in August.
In the first eight months of this year, the sector handled a total of 70.3 billion parcels, up 4.4 percent year on year.
The sector's revenue rose 3.9 percent year on year to reach 676.44 billion yuan during this period. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
