BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) – State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company has effectively guaranteed water and electricity consumption for local agricultural production by increasing equipment, strengthening inspections, and optimizing services, to reduce the impact of drought on local agricultural production.
State Grid Hunan Power Company has inspected the irrigation equipment of 5,127 farmers in the past few days, making solid efforts to ensure the power supply for irrigation during the drought period.
At the same time, the company also installed electricity meters in the fields for local farmers, and completed electricity connection services for more than 44,600 peasant households in accordance with special electricity preferential policies, to ensure reliable electricity consumption for agricultural irrigation.
Cha'anpu, a town belonging to Taoyuan County in Changde City, has a total of more than 60,000 mu (about 4,000 hectares) of tea gardens. In order to meet the local power consumption demand, Changde branch of the State Grid Hunan Power Company took timely and effective measures to provide local tea farmers with reliable power supply to ensure the irrigation of tea fields, and relieved the drought for a total of more than 1,000 mu (about 66.67 hectares) of local tea gardens.
