BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang Provincial Seaport Investment & Operation Group (Zhejiang Seaport Group) and China Economic Information Service(CEIS) on Thursday signed an agreement on cooperation in index development, think tank research, and information release in Beijing Thursday.
Over the past few years, cooperation between Zhejiang Seaport Group and CEIS in the fields of index research, forum activities, and international communication has seen fruitful results. It is hoped that this cooperation will further empower Zhejiang Seaport Group, enable the group to better serve national strategies and enhance international reputation and influence of Ningbo-Zhoushan port Port and Ningbo-Zhoushan International Shipping Center, said Mao Jianhong, chairman of Zhejiang Seaport Group.

Zhejiang Seaport Group has always played a key force in serving major national strategies and maintaining the stability of industrial & supply chain. In 2021, the cargo throughput of Ningbo-Zhoushan port exceeded 1.2 billion tonnes for the first time, ranking top worldwide for 13 consecutive years. In the new round of cooperation between CEIS and Zhejiang Seaport Group indicates, the two parties will further leverage respective advantages, comprehensively deepen the cooperation contents and contribute to the high-quality development of China's port and shipping industry, pointed Xu Yuchang, chairman and president of CEIS.

In 2021, Zhejiang Seaport Group won the 4th China Quality Award, making it the only enterprise in Zhejiang Province and the only enterprise in China's port industry to win this honor.
The Ningbo-Zhoushan port, run by Zhejiang Seaport Group, is a multi-functional and modern port integrating inland river port, estuary port and sea port with large, medium and small berths. As world's important container ocean trunk line port, it is one of the largest iron ore transfer bases in China. It is the largest offshore crude oil transfer port, the largest liquid chemical product transfer base nationwide and even in the Far East. Moreover, it is also the largest port for sea-rail combined transportation in south China, the largest professional ship trading port in China and the first refueling port in China.
Moreover, the port's Internet plus logistics service mode has developed rapidly, forming a large number of digital applications in port and shipping scenarios.
