BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- China boasted about 1,525 science and technology museums in 2020, up over 50 percent from 2012, as the country pooled efforts to speed up the construction of sci-tech related venues and further promote the science popularization.
It is learned that since 2012, the county’s expenditure on science popularization work increased 8.16 percent annually.
Wu Yuanbin, an official with the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that in recent years, China has continuously improved its science popularization capacity and consolidated the foundation for popularizing scientific knowledge and disseminating scientific ideas.
Recently, the country issued an opinion on further strengthening the popularization of science and technology.
According to the opinion, the country will accelerate the construction of science popularization bases, improve the service capabilities of sci-tech museums, encourage and guide more social funds to invest in science popularization work as well as strengthen the standardized management of science popularization infrastructure, and related products and services.
