BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train route has been launched, linking Guangyuan in southwest China's Sichuan Province with Russia's St. Petersburg recently, reported Sichuan Daily Monday.
The train carries a total of 50 containers, loaded with coated paper, storage water heaters and laser cutting machines produced in the surrounding areas of Guangyuan City, with a total value of about 11 million yuan.
Besides, the train adopts an integrated customs clearance method, which achieves customs declaration and port inspection in Guangyuan. The operating route runs through Guangyuan, Xinjiang Alashankou, Kazakhstan and destination of Russian St. Petersburg, with a transportation time of 12 days.
It is learnt that compared with marine shipping, China-Europe freight train helps enterprises save about 20 days of transportation time, and about 10 percent to 15 percent of supply chain costs and logistics costs.
