BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) – A total of 100 kilograms of local produced fresh grapes were transported by cargo flight from Pujiang, a county-level city in east China's Zhejiang Province, to Singapore on August 17, marking a breakthrough for the province in fresh fruit exports, reported Chinanews.com on Tuesday.

With a plantation area of 69,000 mu (about 4,600 hectares)and an annual output value of 1.213 billion yuan, the grape planting in Pujiang has been granted China’s national geographic indication certification trademark, and the grapes have been exported to countries and regions such as Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Thanks to the green logistics channel with simplified customs clearance procedures offered by the local customs, enterprises can receive the certificate of origin (C/O) on the day as grapes are shipped, further facilitating the exports of local grapes, according to local grape grower.

In addition, the facilitation of grape exports provided by the local customs has revived local grape export operations that had been interrupted by the pandemic. At the same time, the relevant local departments also strengthened the connection with the local agricultural departments to organize fruit export promotion activities and other related promotions for local fruit farmers.
